I can't remember for sure, but one of my buddies, GNNPNUT, has a Lionel Alco switcher for Northern Pacific. I also don't remember whether it came with swinging pilots or not, but generally speaking the Lionel stuff isn't real easy to fix the pilots and then add Kadee couplers. Fellow modeler SOO NUT, modified my Lionel Legacy CRI&P GP7for fixed pilots and Kadee couplers, and vowed he would never do another!

Maybe George (SOO NUT) will see your question and respond.

I'm glad the word is out.  I converted an MTH Alco S-2.  It wasn't a pleasant experience.  I came very close to buying a Lionel S-2 for the chassis with fixed pilot, repainting it and using the MTH shell on it.  MTH has yet to come out with a -2 version of the switcher.  BTW - Although the engine is on 2 rail track, it is a 3 rail engine just there for the picture.

BTW - Lionel never produced a Santa Fe zebra striped Alco S-2.
