As promised on a another thread, it's 3 weeks before York and time to make the biannual pre-York breakfast announcement.

Thursday morning, October 18th at 0730 come join your fellow York attendees for breakfast at the Round-the-Clock Diner.

First York? Traveling alone? Traveling in a group? Join us! It's always a fun time. We usually have a group of 20-30 folks. Come put a face with a name, catch up with friends and enjoy the pre-York excitement.

The Round-the-Clock Diner is located at 222 Arsenal Rd on Route 30, just east of I-83.

Please let me know so I can let the manager know how many tables to save together.

Peter

So if breakfast is at 7:30, what do you do for the other 4 hours before the meet.

Make fun of those who can't get up early enough to make the breakfast!

Personally, I go to the fairgrounds and take a nap and read for awhile until 11:00 or so and then head into the Orange Hall to socialize until the meet opens.

I'll also stop by the hotel I'm staying at just to verify I have a room before coming back to check-in later in the afternoon.  After the plumbing debacle a few years ago at the La Quinta taking 10 minutes to stop at the hotel on my way to fairgrounds is a price well worth paying.   If problems, I'd much rather make other arrangements before the meet starts versus late in the afternoon before going to Quaker Steak and Lube.

Peter, Thanks for organizing the breakfast. I'm sad to say I've decided to cancel my trip to York. Breaking away from work this time of year is always a stretch for me, and it's just not in the cards this time.  I'll be back to York in April, which will be the 40th anniversary of my first York meet. In 40 years, I've attended more than I've missed, so I feel fortunate. Have fun.

Marty,

As I have posted in the past.....

After breakfast, if you get to the Fairgrounds with nothing to do until noon....

Stop by and visit my portable layout.  Trains running, whistles blowing, DCS dcsing...running from 9:30ish to 11:30ish

I've been bringing my portable layout to York for a few years now.  Gives me something to do as we wait for the grand opening, (weather permitting.)

Last York the weather was lousy... I decided not to set it up... sure enough, it rained!  Some members came by anyway... glad you stopped to visit.. I really hope we have sunny skies this time around!

Just look for the big grey van, with its teeny tiny layout, about 100' in front of the purple Hall doors in the RV parking area!

Stop by and say, "Hi"... no headcount required   I'll be lookin' for you Marty!

As always, Peter, hope the piggyback on your thread is OK! (and that you stop by for a visit!)
