The Bergen County Model Railroad Club runs an operating show yearly in February.

At this show we run Standard Gauge engines from the early days of Standard Gauge.

At our last show, one of our members had 3 engines burn up their armaures. We have since

heard that the Z-4000 puts out some interference to the SG armature.  Has this ever been discussed?

New Standard Gauge runs fine on the Z4000.

We would like to hear any feed back on this,

Sorry, this is hokum.  No possible scientific or practical basis.  Besides, modern era standard gauge (traditional open-frame style) motors are identical to vintage motors, so it's not possible for one to run fine and not the other.

I run 65 various vintage and modern era - Ives, Lionel, Flyer, McCoy, etc. etc. - traditional-motor standard gauge engines on my layout powered by several Z4000's.

There are innumerable variables that could have caused the burn outs on the show layout, and one of the many possibilities might include a severely malfunctioning Z4000,   but there's nothing inherent in the Z4000 that could cause a problem.
