You really do not use the Z4000 to program PS2 engines, rather, you use the Z4000 to program PS1 engines.
However, you do use the transformer's bell and whistle/horn buttons to invoke certain features of PS2 engines. How to do so is in the PS2 engine's operator manuals.

I have the Z4000 as well and just yesterday purchased the MTH DCS system powered by the Z4000. Let me just say...WOW! It really makes running Proto 2.0 engines so easy and much more enjoyable!

I also recommend you invest in the Z4K side receiver, which runs Conventional trains via DCS thru your DCS hand held remote control. A way cool part of the Z4K and DCS. The ability to run Conventional and P2 or P3 trains at the same time, even on the same tracks, is seriously high tech train control.
