Z4000 red light | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Hi All;

Just opened a Z4K that I bought Oct '17 from a dealer in the middle of the Orange Hall; don't remember who. With nothing wired in and no other transformers on line and the handles set to "off", the left says 40V and 1A; the right says 0V and 24A. No reset when I turn it off. Same result when wired to track (that wiring worked fine with a ZW). Any suggestions? Is there a repairman in the Charlotte, NC area? thanks.

Closet would be Little Choo Choo Shop in Spenser, but not sure they are an authorized MTH repair facility? MTH used to require them to be shipped to them in Maryland for servicing.

Little Choo Choo Shop does not work on transformers. They recommended contacting MTH.

This has been discussed many times: 4000 and 0123 mean Z-4000, the lower number is the software version.

After power up they go away.

Sounds like something is hung up. Try GGG, if I remember correctly he repairs Z-4000's.
