Folks,

As some of you know, I am underway with a new layout (The Erie Shore & Ironton).  I have two Z4000's.  I am noticing a difference on start up between the two.  With the throttles confirmed OFF on both units, unit "A" read 1.6 and 1.7 volts, while the other  (Unit "B") reads .1 and .1 on start up.  Seems to be an issue here.  I initially started testing tracks with the "A" unit and have been struggling to have good control over a PS3 unit and a Lionel Lionmaster unit.  After unpacking the second unit today, I noticed the difference on the volts.  This ALL in conventional mode.

What say you?

Thanks again!

Troy

Anyone know if the voltage leak is what is causing issues with the PS3 and Lionel unit?  I always question my wiring when a new layout is under construction but 8 other loco's (older Williams and a sunset) are working just fine.  Can that little bit of a voltage leak be messing with the brains?

Is this the "wire a light-bulb in" thing?  If so, where?  It's a big layout... or will be eventually.
