Because of the chopped sine wave, when you set a transformer output to a specific voltage, say 12 V on one of the built-in meters, without anything attached to the terminals, would a voltmeter placed across those terminals read less than 12 volts unlike a standard old Z for example which registered what the transformer says? At least that is what I experienced. If so, what's the difference between the built-in and an external digital voltmeter. Thanks.
