Lionel subway with door problem

Although I'm not a regular poster on this forum but more of a longtime lurker, I do own the Lionel R-27 subway set and found that sometimes a reset will correct some malfunctioning features. Have you tried doing a reset on your tmcc or legacy system for this engine and set? It may work and save you some unnecessary aggravation.
