A Visit To The Misty Mountain Railroad - Updated

On our way to Florida my wife and I had the pleasure of meeting Charles Griffin and visiting his "Misty Mountain Model Railroad" in Blairsville, GA. Even though the layout was not open to the public today, Charles was very gracious in opening and operating the layout for us. He first took us around the layout showing and explaining the various scenes throughout this 3,400 sq. ft. display. Scenery went from the floor to the ceiling. He then ran the trains (10) and trolleys (2) for us. What a sight to behold. He gave me free reign to take all the photos I wanted. He then took us downstairs to see his extensive train collection.

good morning all, hope to see photos too. I have a video of this amazing layout from quite a few years ago am sure they have made some updates to it since then will be nice to see what it looks like now.


This layout is amazing if you are interested and if OGR still has them get the Great Layout Adventures Volumn3 it is a VHS video and it has 2 other layouts included but the mistymountain is one of them it's amazing I love watching it and the one fella that helped create it is a hoot watch it and you'll understand that comment!

 

As I said am really looking forward to seeing the photos. $oo

GLA 3 is also available in DVD format, for those who may be interested.
