Last Thursday, me and a buddy went to New Freedom Pennsylvania to ride the #17 York.  This is a reproduction of a 4-4-0 steam engine used to carry Lincoln to Gettysburg for his Gettysburg Address and then later, was used as his funeral train.

The trip started at New Freedom and went approximately 10 miles north to Hanover Junction.

The first two photos are at New Freedom, PA.

These next shots are at Hanover Junction.  The tracks that #17 are sitting on go on to York, PA.  The left spure would have gone to Hanover, PA.  These tracks no longer exist.  The station went through a restoration project starting in 1999.  Currently it houses a museum.

Info can be found at www.steamintohistory.com about excursions and links to how the engine was built.
