I'm planning a layout expansion. I'm in a bit of a dilemma as my layout uses 0-27 style track, with 0-42 curves. 0-42 will be a bit too big to navigate the plan and 0-27 curves are out of the question. Are there readily available 0-31 curves in 0-27 style? Worse comes to worse, I could use O Gauge (black tie) track on the curves and "make it work" with the 0-27 style track both in aesthetics and functionality.

I bought mine in a big lot that had a ton of rusty track, with some sand paper scrubbing then after sand paper wiped a sock with WD40 on it, it was cleaned pretty easily and worked great. Just don't use simple green

I'll agree that the Marx o34 is just the ticket. It's not too uncommon at shows, and it's usually very cheap. It does have black ties though (at least all of it I've ever seen does) and it has 5 ties per section, which makes it easy to find in a box of track under a table at a show. Not that I would know about that.

Here's a picture of a few pieces on my layout; they're the curve with no train on it.

Happy New Year!
