Hello,

I recently purchased an 0-36 curve remote switch.

The switch is working fine except when I switch to it to Curve, the Red light does not turn on in my remote switch. However the green light leds for Straight works fine.

This is the second time in a row this has happended and I returned the last one.

I am new to this and dont know if this is normal or not and how to fix this.

thanks!

If you have a meter, you could measure the yellow wire versus the black wire. The yellow wire should be +5 vdc when the green light is on at the controller and -5 vdc to light the red lights. If that is working properly, then the problem is at the controller. If the wiring into the controller is ok (it's connected inside the controller), then there is something wrong with the LEDs or circuit board inside the controller.

Well...you would have to take the bottom plate off the switch. I am guessing that the signal to light the LEDs comes ultimately from the stop limit microswitches on the rack that changes the position of the rails. The microswitches are what stops the switch motor turning, and that works, but the microswitches have a NO and a NC contact. Maybe the NO contact is what changes the output of the yellow wire. The other possibility is the circuit board itself or the plugs and sockets associated with it. The board is available in parts, but I would guess the microswitch is more likely if that's what/how it works.
