Do not remove the insulating pins from their original positions. The steel pin has to be removed to accomodate the insulatin pin from the switch being joined to it. If you took the insulating pins out already put them back. The long curved rail has a split in it about half way. the insulating pin has to go back into that rail at the end furthest from the swivil rails. The short straight rail gets the other insulating pin.
