072 tubular track turnout

I'm experiencing Lionel & MTH Steam engines derailing at two of my five O72 turnouts in one direction but not the opposite direction. The 3 other turnouts work just fine. They are not manual switches. What could be some of the causes and how can I fix them?

One problem I've encountered with these is that a switch might not be mounted completely flat (or straight) in relation to the surrounding tracks. It doesn't take much of a bump or misalignment for the pilot or front wheels of a longer engine to ride up over the frog or catch on something.
