Now is the time to save BIG on Train Stuff from Menards during our 11% rebate sale! Most of our train products are only available online but you can still get a rebate for them! Sale ends September 17, 2016.

If you aren’t familiar with our rebate program, here’s how it works:

  1. Make a purchase from any Menards store or MENARDS.COM
  2. Pick up a rebate redemption certificate or print one at the MENARDS.COM rebate center
  3. Mail in the certificate along with the rebate receipt. For online purchases, this can be found as a PDF attached to your order confirmation email.
  4. Receive your Menards merchandise credit check in the mail (Please allow 6-8 weeks for processing).

Merchandise credit checks can be used in any of our stores. They are not usable online but we don’t mind if you trade, sell or transfer them. If you don’t live near any of our stores, stop in and visit us when you visit in the Midwest! MCC’s never expire or lose their value, so collect them as long as you like and redeem them when you can!

HEY, you shouldn't call them a "CHECK".  I bought something from Menards once and was supposed to get a Merchandise Credit Check...well, I guess the "check" must be IN THE MAIL cause I'm still waiting for it.  It is NOT a "check" it's more like a credit against new merchandise you buy at a later time.  Just a way to suck you in.  And, now, I see you can't even use it online!?!?!?  HUH???  I purchased my stuff from them online cause I don't have a store around me, at least that I know of.  So, not only did they charge me that "CONVENINCE" fee but also get to keep my "CREDIT CHECK" of almost $3.00.  What a rip off !!!!!!  So, now when I buy the set of 4 Army flat cars and 2 Army flat cars with the container and gun totaling over $150.00 how much will I lose by not being able to recover the Merchandise Credit "Check" and losing the 11% rebate?

Hi Mark,

I interested in your product line, that said I live in New Hampshire, USA 1000 miles from one your stores. A suggestion make this discount useable online or offer it off the top of the normal price. Or better yet ; And or for us eastern USA folks offer FREE shipping ie on orders over say $100. That would encourage me to take a bigger bite at your products.

It has been expressed again and again as to why Menards offers the rebate but only in their stores. It is a business ploy not for one to be able to buy more train stuff (which is already at the lowest cost around) but to get people into their stores as they are competing against Lowes, Home Depot, and other large box stores. They are not trying to out compete Lionel or MTH. They have a limited train offering, mostly on-line and for a brief time stocked in their stores. Anyone can call it a rip off if you like, but you need to understand the thinking when you purchase if the reason is for the rebate.

To get the rebate, you do have to jump through some hoops. You have to fill out a rebate form for the item you purchased, send it in, then there is a wait...sometimes 4-6 weeks before receiving a post card like Credit Check with the amount on it.

As much as we see the complaints here about this, I do not think it will change. What could change possibly is just not offering any rebates on train items to satisfy those who feel it is unfair. In the meantime, you could also write Lionel and MTH to see if they will start offering rebates and free shipping as they are competing against one another.

It's an announcement board, that sponsors, can FREELY, chose the manner in which to be productive.  Currently running

in this kinda of time schedule.  Immediately after, a Free, product offer, the 11% shows up from Sunday to the following

Saturday night.  Usually with in about 3 days, thereafter comes a buy a product, advertisement, which seems to do , Well, as

most of the time, the free product runs out.  I think the best thing for complainers to do, is when they see the 11%, carry

on in life, but not focus on what or what not to buy, then wait a week, CALM, down and make purchase during free

product or new announcement week, makes life softer and easier!!   TA DA !!!!!!!!
