1/43 Greenlight Caprice Cop Car - Anyone ever take one apart and repaint?

I have not. But I watch a couple of YouTubers who do this sort of thing with Hot Wheels-sized cars and do it rather well: "BaremetalHW" and "Diecast Resurrection".

I consider their techniques to be among the best, and their methods can be upscaled to larger-scaled discast.

Got 'er done.  I'm planning a scene where a '68 Corvette is pulled over.  Story:  Is the trooper giving him a ticket, or just a fan of Corvettes?  That happened to a former coworker of mine.  He was driving to his farm in Iowa when a trooper pulled him over.  Not to give him a speeding ticket, but to ask him about his C5 LeMans-style headlights.

Were the front and rear bumpers hard to remove ?

Have you thought about adding a modern flashing roof, head and tail light kit from Evans Designs ?

I have done this transformation, the Evans design lights are easy to use ..... have some hot glue on hand... and melted to your hand  also too  lol, its really cool. while you are at it put figures in the car too. run all the wires to the center of the car and paint them black and go through the platform.

Thanks!  The bumpers and glass weren't too hard to remove, but the taillight lenses were too resistant, so I just taped over those.  Yep, I thought about adding flashing lights and will check out Evans Designs.  Any sources for modern figures is appreciated.  Here's a link to the '68 Corvette convertible I have:
