I have some Union Railroad engines. If you are from Pittsburgh and follow the Union Railroad you should see a cooler on every locomotive. I want to mode this very thing with my engines. However I can not find a cooler that fits the scale. Can somebody point me in the right direction in finding these. Thanks in advance!

I'm working on a Union switcher right now. I plan on measuring a cooler of similar size to those in use by the Union RR and building it from scrap pieces of styrene. Some sanding to round the edges and bits of wire for the handles and it should be a fair representation. I'm also toying around with the idea of sculpting it from epoxy putty layered over a styrene base. The styrene will provide the structure and the epoxy putty will allow for the indents and dimpled surface found on plastic coolers.
I know Dave Minarik from Mercer Junction has scratched a few coolers. If he sees this maybe he'll chime in with his technique.

Have you looked on Shapeways? If you can't find it in 1:48th scale on there but do see one, message the seller. Most of them will happily make it available in whatever scale you want.
