I have a question for Mark,    On the Menards web site there is a video under Menards collectibles.  I looked through the train stuff and I can't find most of the items in the video.   Are the items still available?   I have to have one item in particular,  the Quaker State gas station.   When I was growing up that was my dads and my service station.   If any one has one of these they would be willing to part with,  I would be in their debt.

All of these trucks and diecast excavator are much closer to 1/64th than 1/48th.  In the stores they have some "army" trucks as well and they are all undersized, but..., I bought them anyway. That doesn't mean they are not nice, just don't set them next to a true 1/48 car as they will look way to small. But they certainly work as a load. Just like the Menards Van they have offered in the past and you can still find in the diecast bin @ Menards, they may be advertised as 1/48th, but they will come up way short of that.

I believe, (and i'm sure if i'm wrong ,I will be corrected) that some of the new die-cast that Menards is offering are 1/48 or very close! I'm referring to the pickups, the soda trucks, the Goodyear Tire truck and the cement truck to name a few! It is true that many of the other loads, though great looking ,are much smaller! I mentioned before that I would love it if they offered a standard 1/48 on all their die-cast but if wishes were horses none of us would be walking! LOL

Mark,

is there any delay from the time you announce a new item here, to when it might be found on store shelves? I'm in Illinois with a few Menards rebate checks all ready to be blown on trains! These flat cars look awesome!

Sam

I have not done this yet, but I believe Mark mentioned placing your online order at the Hardware Desk located in the center of most Menards stores, you pay for it there and can apply your rebate check(s).  I assume a rebate receipt would print for you at the same time if you buy during the current 11% offer which ends Saturday.

Hi Sam,

Some of our new items won't be sent to stores, however, I can confirm that both new flatcars (Cement Mixer and Excavator) will be. There may be a short delay, depending on how long it takes the store to get them but I would hope the stores put them out right away because they are great looking pieces!

TShearer is correct, another option would be to place a special order at the hardware desk. Basically, they will just place an online order for you and they will ship it to your store. They will print you a special order slip and you can pay for it using you rebate checks! Plus, you can reserve the item regardless if the store has one in stock or not.

Today these came in. All I can say is get your big engines out, for these are VERY heavy !! The cement truck is wonderfully done in every way, The tank turns, the rear spout moves and like I said,, HEAVY..  The Excavator  also is very detailed and works and functions very well. I'm  GLAD  I ordered two of these for I feel they will sell out fast.. BobCO3P1P2P3CO1CO2

Bob, just ordered one of each and 2 more tire delivery trucks (picturing a tire distribution warehouse)! Thanks for the mini review! Did you happen to see in the"other magazine" an ad for Menards new train station, 40 led lights, 15 figures and Jack? Beautiful building! Don't think it's been released yet, unless I missed it!

No,   I don't get the Other Magazine, but I did go to my local Menards Yesterday to check on it . The tag was there stating a 10-20-16 delivery date??  sounds like a keeper to me AGAIN..  You will not be disappointed on these new flats, In my own opinion , these   will be another home run for Menards.. I can't ever leave Menards without getting my billfold out, came home with more rolling stock yesterday, like I need more??????

Hi Tat2d1,

Most (if not all) of these items are sold out. I might be able to find a Quaker State gas station for you though. I will send an email the address you have listed in your profile.

I think Cabinet BOB did the right thing by buying the flat with cement truck. At the rate he is buying Menard's trains the cement truck will come in handy to pour an addition to his basement.................Paul

He needs to buy his wife some shoes before the next release from Menards.

That's what that box was from Amazon ...... more shoes......now I have another box van coming, and a hopper... Hope she don't get the idea of using the cement truck to fill up the hole in the back yard with me in it..... poor me....

I think Bob has a separate building for his train stuff and shop! But I can see him buying one of these little Midwestern towns that are for sale and filling it up with Menards stuff! Just sayin!

This is no joke.. My friend and I bought Neils Spur Ia.  I was a elevator and two storage sheds.  So,, yes I did buy a town
