ok I give up why is my new /old 1971 1081 train set called the wabash cannonball when the engine and caboose are NKP?

that was a famous name in folk history & song. I'm sure Lionel was trying to capture some market by using a name that was identifiable to consumers when selling it's sets. Why they didn't make the engine w/ WAB markings is beyond me.
Lionel did make a "Wabash Train" the box name on it was "Iron Horse Freight" Lionel number is 6-11703. I think my dad bought it 1987/88. Only reason I think that, there is a Lionel Authorized service stations listing for 1987-1988 in the box. It probably was run for less than an hour when dad had it, I got it in 2011, oiled & lubed, powered up and it ran like a brand new engine.

Yes, it was made in 1988.
I think there was also one made in 1978 as well
