14 volt or 18 volt

430 would be more correct. But if you like a warm glow 18 would be it. No O gauge prewar engine would come even close to using 18 volts and still stay on the track.

It may depend on how you are operating.  Modern systems, with a continuous 18 voltage to track, may do better with 18 volt bulbs.  On the other hand, conventional and variable voltage to the track would do better with 14 volt bulbs which is closer to the average voltage to the track.  I use mostly 12 volt bulbs for my conventional controlled layout.

Thank you both!  I'm currently operating with a Lionel LW so, it based upon your recommendations, I'll pick up the 14 volt bulbs.
