Apparently all are affected,  the bathrooms face observation end, and the lounge is at the other end,  not an easy fix either, with electrical connections to move and wires and switches that need to move.

Given I had just received this car I had not gotten to the point of looking inside yet as I was satisified with the exterior.  I do see your point about the interior as I have received several other comments since my initial post. Thanks for pointing that out.

If it's just "bending a capacitor", this doesn't sound like a daunting task.  However, it's certainly something you shouldn't have to do on a car that cost a couple hundred dollars!

Yeah, I don't know the extent of what was done to pull it off as there were no pictures other than toilets in the back, then the correct way. There were no interior pictures shown. I would imagine that eventually someone will show us what is going on inside as far as above the toilet to figure out how to fix.

I believe they may have also mentioned adding or extending the wiring to make the connection work. I wish they would have posted interiors, as it would be good to see exactly what is going on.

I received both Paradise and Phila & Reading #10, and both have the interior flipped.  Didn't noticed it at first but this topic made go back and look close at the photos I take of every new acquisition.

When first received them I heard some rattling noise coming from inside one of the cars.  I feared maybe figures came undone.  Turned out the thin white plastic packaging was cracking apart and pieces where falling free about inside the box.  Anyone else get defective packaging?

Yes I bought two of them and like yours one had broken white plastic. Not as bad as your picture but definately cracked in  a number of places.

I left the Springfield show last month having spoken with Dave at Lionel about #90, feeling optimistic that when it arrives, it will look and operate as it should. After seeing how these passenger cars have come out, I'm not so optimistic anymore.

Yes, I am waiting for number Strasburg #90 as well. Has anyone received one yet?  I received a UPS notice of a shipping label being created for a shipment from my train dealer where I ordered it and two days have past with no shipment yet which is kind of unusual.

Interesting, we were told probably in the May timeframe, you sure this is the #90 they're shipping?

Were the cars damaged or did the packaging do its job?

I received some new heavy weight passenger cars several days ago and the packing was broken similar to yours, but not as bad.  Unfortunately, the six wheel trucks did not survive the event.  New replacement trucks from Lionel were received earlier today and the repairs are done.  All is well in the world.
