Tonight I was a the Amtrak / CN Yard Pontiac, Michigan • Caught this image on a digital camera.
This image is what the human eye discerned visually. Using a digital camera.
This is the same image using Photoshop to create a Classic Kodachrome Image. Kodachrome was remarkable at capturing vivid sunsets & gradient blue skies. This thread has changed the way that I am going to process digital photos.

To my eye, your fake “Kodachrome” image has far too much color in it. The colors are too vivid and don’t look real.
Tha ballast has taken on a blue tint, the yellow step stools are way too bright, and the sunset also looks over-saturated with color.
Your camera-original image is much more realistic.
The second looked more EKTAchrome to me.
And thete is something about digital. Somehow, it has this "artificial" feel to it. Seems to "flat". Maybe it is due to the lack of "grain"?
A properly retouched digital photo can look fine.

I agree it's a little flat, the blacks are not deep enough, and the color balance shades towards blue.

Some black and white level changes, an exposure adjustment, and corrected color balance.
