I dimly remember either an American Tourister or Samsonite commercial from the late 60s where the case gets smacked by a steam loco (Big Boy?). It bounces end over end alongside the tracks, it's later opened and the contents are fine (!!!).
Every few months I do a search on You Tube, but haven't found it yet. Being born in '64, it'd have to be 1968 or later.
Anyone else remember this ad campaign?

I don't remember a train ad campaign, but I think that it was Samsonite that had a commercial where a gorilla in a zoo gives a suitcase a work out and the contents were OK.
I believe the commercial in question was also for Samsonite. It was shot on the Magma, Arizona line. Loved that commercial.
I also recall the gorilla commercial, and one where a Samsonite gets shot or tossed and Evel Kneivel climbs out.
Thanks Kelly, glad to l know I wasn't hallucinating. Although it was the 60s, I was barely four. The gorilla ad ran much longer, until at least '77.
Maybe it was a regional thing, I grew up in Cols, OH.
I'd like to see the RR one if anyone finds it online. The last BigBoy dropped fires in 1959 or 1960, so unlikely that would have been used. Circa 1968 the only UP engine under steam would be 844/8444.
