I have an 8X6 layout with an inner and outer loop connected with switches and a couple of sidings. Because of the crossover switches, the two loops are isolated and powered with parallel wiring from the TIU. I am running a Z1000 with TIU Rev L version 6.1 and a hand held remote V6.1.

I have two PS2 Steam Engines (One 3V and one 5V), a PS3 SA-70 Diesel and a PS2 20-2234-1 Premier E8 ABA Diesel engine (5V board). All have BCR instead of batteries.

All have been working fine until yesterday. I tried to start up the E8 ABA engine and got "Engine Not on Track". All other engines work fine.

I have had the E8 ABA for about 3 weeks and have not encountered any problems until now.

Here is my  troubleshooting.

1. Tried to "Recover Lost Engines" - No Engine to Recover

2. I deleted the E8 ABA from the Remote and tried to add the engine back in (No other engines and no lighted cars on the track) - "No Engine To Add" (I can still add back the other engines)_

3. I tried a test track with no luck.

4. I tried conventional mode and the engine won't start up

5. I cleaned the wheels and the track (both the test track and the layout track).

6. I tested the voltage on the engine (Screws connecting the pickups and wheels to the board) and get 18V ac (I don't know where to check voltage on the board). I also checked the voltage on the BCR terminals (with the BCR attached) and get from 2-5V ac.

Can anyone suggest other troubleshooting alternatives?

Thank you,

A basic DCS user.

Normally yes.  I have the boards and speaker and can do this.  Load the soundfile and serial data.  It is a little mechanical work mounting new board and possible extending some wire lengths if they are not long enough to reach.  If you have done this before, it is probably better to let a tech do it.  My email is in my profile if you need further info.  G
