I enjoy looking at any Lionel Catalog, but Christmas is special for

me, and many on the Forum who remember the days long gone by.

My only problem is this stuff is not readily available come the

Christmas Season.

This is not the fault of Lionel, the trains are made in China not

Michigan.  I hope Lionel has a good Christmas inventory for the

big day.  But fear not there is much to choose from regarding

what is ready to put under the tree, good for all of us who

recall the days of feast or famine.

I still get excited when I hear the words Lionel and Christmas.

Mercy just looked at the calender, only 190 days left till the

big day.  Where does the time go?

Many thanks,

Billy C

It's kind of like planned nostalgia is replacing planned obsolescence for the holidays; As a kid I'd go through the Christmas catalogue and want everything in it. But when I woke up Christmas morning hardly anything was readily available under the tree. When I was a kid it was lack of funds. Today, well you know... But I like the nostalgia.
ONLY 3 HOURS TO GO TIME!

Just another 30 minutes to go!!!  I'm curious if any new Polar RR items will be introduced and in which color scheme.

The Polar RR offerings started with a blue/burgundy/gold paint scheme (similar to the Polar Express).  Then Lionel introduced a red/green/silver color scheme that they used on the Polar RR SD80Mac (very limited production) and a hopper car whose green was more of a teal green that didn't really match the locomotive.

Then they started bringing out more items in the North Pole Central livery, which started more as a traditionally sized O-Gauge offering (as opposed to a scale offering) that was more green/red/white... But the three GP-35's last year Were geared toward the scale crowd.

So now that they're all over the map with scale Christmas rolling stock, it'll be interesting what we see for 2014.  Personally, I'd like to see a re-run of the SD80Mac since it was so limited in its first production run.  And of course, a Standard Gauge Polar Express would be the ultimate!!!

We order a lot from Charles Ro,  got all catalogs from them.

did lionels clubs stop sending out the catalogs?

Big Dodge: The answer.... no.  LRRC members received a pack of four catalogs more than a month ago.  (The catalogs are part of what is paid for in the membership fee.) You should contact Lionel's LRRC contact & request that yours be (re)sent.      By bigdodgetrain:

That's interesting The Polar Express "FlyerChief" set apparently has all the features of LionChief + while the Oguage set is only available as a LionChief and I don't see an option for a separate LionChief + engine.
