Sadly no new news. 

Amazingly we have so many very affluent folks in the US but none interested enough in trains to plunk down the millions needed to rebuild the entire 40+ miles.

 

Still waiting for a Gates or Buffett type to do what Nick Kovalchick did.

I note they won't permit volunteers under the age of 18. Modern times. Decades ago a half dozen of us under 18 would go up to the Middletown and New Jersey Railroad to work on engine #103 over the weekends, doing welding, scraping, and machining (we brought parts back to Brooklyn Tech, which had a complete machine shop we could use). We would all sleep in a caboose up there. Labor laws today.

 

One day after my seventeenth birthday I strapped on a .38 Colt  guarding gold shipments. Now you aren't even allowed to hold a paintbrush until you are 18.
