Hi.  I was intrigued by a recent post asking about special excursions for the year, but it turned into a debate about bearings and railroad reporting marks.

Trying to bring a central post, if possible, to OGR, why don't we link some of our special excursions or railroad events on this thread?

The Lackawanna & Wyoming Valley Railway Historical Society is teaming again with the Reading Blue Mountain & Northern RR to produce a rare mileage trip in early May.  Tickets went on sale this past Sunday.  Not all track is "rare" but from what Reading & Northern tells us, this trip may be the only charter this year with photo runbys.  Give it a look http://www.project3713.com/201...oto-freight-tickets/

I sure hope the organizers are not the same ones that ran the RDC trip on the RBMN last spring. It was advertised as having photo stops and runbys but zero attempt was made at crowd control or setting up photo lines. I did bring it up with the organizer onboard the trip and his response was "There's nothing I can do about it" which is complete bull since he didn't even try asking everyone to establish a photo line. This was the second RBMN excursion I rode and both had botched photo stops/runbys.

*shakes head*.  Setting up and controlling a photo line so that everyone gets good photos is not rocket science...
