Does anybody know or can find a picture of the Dreyfuss 5447 with the pt tender to have scullin Disc Drivers? I can only find pictures of the engine before it was given a pt tender with boxpox drivers, and after it was destreamlined with the scullin disc drivers.

As built in 1938, Dreyfuss hudsons 5445 to 5449 had boxpok drivers while locomives 5450 to 5454 had scullin disk drivers. Starting in early 1943, Dreyfuss Hudsons 5450, 5451, 5452, and 5453 received the first four pt tenders. However, in late 1943, 5450 suffered a boiler explosion that crippled the locomotive and rendered it inoperable for a year. When 5450 wrecked, it had a pt tender, scullin disk drivers and roller bearing side rods. I believe what happened was that in mid 1944, 5450's pt tender, drivers and rods were given to 5447 as it seams to have obtained both at the same time.

This link shows a wordpress documenting the NYC's pt tenders.

Also, check out this site as it has many photographs of 5447 and hundreds of other locomotives. Just type the locomive's road number into the search bar to get photographs of a specific engine.

5447 was later de-streamlined in 1947. Once 5450 returned to service, the locomotive could be seen with a selkirk boiler front and scullin disk drivers, but no roller bearing side rods and pt tender, instead being equipt with friction bearing side rods and standard j3a tender. 5450 would later receive a new pt tender and revert back to having a standard boiler front. There is no evidence that outside of 5447 any of the Dreyfuss hudsons ever received driver type swaps while shrouded. The empire state express hudsons are another situation entirely.

Lionel IS CORRECT to show 5447 with scullin disk drivers and I hope they don't change this. 5445 with streamlined tender for Mercury service should not have scullins however and I hope they do end up fixing this.

Also I do hope Mr. Muffin's custom run 5344 Dreyfuss hudson with streamlined tender for mercury service has scullin disk drivers and that the diagram is just incorrect.

I am planning to write @MrMuffin'sTrains an email to ask about the wheels since the description mentions Scullin wheels. I am hoping the rendering is just inaccurate. I noticed it earlier this week since the rendering wasn’t out when I preordered.
