One of the pieces I've been chasing for tha last couple of years is a Lionel 260E, operator quality, say C6-C5. I'm going to hit York for the first time this Fall...what should one expect to see, price-wise, for an original 260E, in tolerable, operator-grade condition?

You should be able to get an operator grade (or one a little nicer yet) for $400 for any black one and $450 for a gunmetal one... You never know what you are going to see there... sometimes there will be 50 of them other times 5.
Rob, if you don't find a nice one at York, LMK, I have a decent one with the pendulum reverse unit, which I have locked into forward only. It works OK, just don't want to accordion the Blue Comet O gauge cars. We can discuss price afterward.
