As you read this, you may be thinking, yeah I already knew this, but for others, this may be helpful.
Lately, when using my iPhone protected by an Otterbox case, pressing screen icons has been sluggish, required more pressure than necessary, and accurate location selection on the screen has been problematic. This is my everyday phone that I carry in my pocket, so it collects a fair amount of dust, lint and a few small hairs that get inside the case after a while.
Mainly to make reading text easier, I decided to take the case apart and clean the phone screen and the case inside and out with plastic safe premoistend lens wipes that I use to clean my glasses.
After reassembling, not only does it look better, the screen is easier to read, more responsive and accurate to a light touch. Now it’s like the protector isn’t there.
After thinking about why, it makes sense that the dust and such was creating tiny spaces between the phone’s screen and the cover, requiring harder pressing with less location precision.
Definitely worth the 5 minutes it took to do this. I hope this post helps others.
