Gentlemen,

I would like to own a Red Lionel 264E or 264 Christmas Train. Unfortunately I have only seen one of these 264 Christmas Trains in my life time, and the man who owned it may very well have custom made it, from a regular 264 work train, repainting and customizing the rolling stock, Engine & Tender himself.   Does anybody know if Lionel actually made a 264 or 264E Red Christmas Train.

I looked in my books. A 264 set is a electric with passenger cars.

A 277W is a work train in O gauge. To make a red train one would need to paint the searchlight car red where it is green and paint the Gondola red. Red caboose and red topped crane would be fine.

Engine painted red? Not sure if a 263E would look that good in red.

Gentlemen,

As I said I have only seen one 264 Red Christmas Train and I do believe the old guy

made it himself, and man did it look great.

Blue Comet 400, the real numbers are 264 no E on that Christmas Train the old man had custom made.

gene,

Infact it looked very much like your 259E Christmas Train, but it had black trimming, not green, your Raindeer Wood side gondola, is just incredible!  Just a great 259E Christmas original.  Jim your restoration work has always been top shelf.

Jim,

MTH made a RTR 260E train set, instead of the 263E, Red Christmas Freight Train with Silver hardware trimming, red/green Box Car & Green Coal Car with Red & Green Caboose it is fantastic, originally they want a serious buck for it however, some day I will own that Christmas Train, only a few were made, and they do look Christmas great!  MTH just put it on sale for $495.00 I believe.  Looks like at the end of the month I will order it.
