too late for Melvin and Miller......??

Well, I had dreams of building a big layout much faster. It has taken me years extra. There was the loss of income from my job. There was the switching of scales that didn't help. Even the waffling between O scale 3 rail and 2 rail. I had tested my ideal 2 rail big consists running on 2 rail track to see how it would work. After that, somehow I got behind a few years! I had dreamed of building a layout that I'd be proud of and maybe even covered in magazines. Then these guys announce maybe selling it off or retiring? Uh oh, now or never! Where has the years gone?

Oh well, at least it's finally coming from concept towards completion. There's a long way to go, and it's much simpler than I had hoped. Anyways I'm finally building my high line. I posted in the what have you done on your layout post the other day. It occurred to me that when we get the chance to create our own posts here, we really get the publicity of our gracious hosts. I'm sure they can always hit the delete button. Much simpler, the post can just fade away from lack of interest.

So here I will try and show a build post and see how it goes. This forum has always been my favorite. I hope this adds interest at least in some small way. Until the lights get shut off we may as well utilize what a great opportunity we have. Seeing how anyone like me can create a post, it's like having the mag right here....

This is near the end of my new elevated loop around the basement. ( Can you picture a large 7' double track bridge for the 2 -2rail tracks crossing over a canyon with rock cliffs running floor to ceiling? Right near the camera all tracks go through short tunnel sections) :

Ooops, caught the panel face off. Bad timing there.

The other end is not completed but the double track 3 rail bridges are just past this camera shot. This is the other side of my basement addition:

now I'd like to have something more interesting above my yards. So after seeing what others have built I took a stab at it. I had pictured an elevated line like in Chicago or similar:

So I'll keep adding here and hope for some more time to add. I'm getting much slower at building things!

BTW, here's a re-post of a track test: ( I guess Mike R won't ever be here....)

Nice update, sure would like to see more of your layout! I like the video.

There many 2 rail videos and some G scale inside and more outside on my video channel on Utube. Click on The Utube symbol on the bottom of any video your watching posted here to watch on utube. Then when you're there, click on the posters name to go to their channel. Click on their videos to see their others.

Here's mine

Thank you all. The problem always for me is, it becomes a job. I didn't realize how much work it would actually be. Looking back I did get a fair amount built. There's a long way to go. I keep plugging away and I'll get there I guess. Another dozen supports. I have to place each one to keep things level. I'll have to take them down for paint and to install the backdrop. That should have been put up a long time ago.
