hello. I model with 3 rail track and for christmas I got a vintage 2 rail atlas boxcar and bobber caboose. but I found out that it will run on lionel Fastrack and the Old tubular stuff which is what i use. so I got to thinking, and aroud the same time these cars were made, atlas made a 2 rail industrial plymoth switcher. so I thought if I got one, It would fit on my track. So if i can find a way to mount the center rail rollers and an electronic E unit and rectifier, it would be a nice switcher for my layout. has anyone else done this? Thanks.

I have several of the Atlas switchers.  They are very affordable, but then I run them on 2 rail.  The only real change for is putting a scale coupler on it.  I do like the slightly larger Atlas ones quite a bit as well.

For conversion to 3 rail, it wouldn't be impossible, but for the effort Gunrunnerjohn makes a good point about the K-line switchers.  They seems to be selling at a premium these days, but nice little critters.
