I have the operating log car and have installed a new rack as well as spring. However, I do not understand how the rack is held in the down position. The trigger (underneath) is fully operational but I don't see anything that holds the rack to the car deck. Am I missing a part?

about 2:30 into this Operating Log and Gravel car video it shows the catch mechanism and and locking function.
I ordered a new RACK for this car but there was NO MAGNET attached to this piece...so apparently I need to glue a magnet to the underside of the moveable rack...right?
Have you seen such a part on the internet? I have not.
Thank you
I found another car such as that and see where this is a small magnet - which this car rack DOES NOT have.
I have seen the part listed as a 3362-12 pin, which is probably correct. Even though the person in the video said it was a magnet, I don't think it is. Just a hard button so it wouldn't wear. It is not listed in the original service manual for the 3362, just the 3362-16 dump frame, which may have had the piece assembled in it if ordered at the time.
Note that there are 2 sizes of trigger buttons. The smaller one is for the postwar 3362 dump bed and the larger one is for the MPC and later beds.
