Restoring my 1950's Cattle car and corral and have a question on the bridge that connects the platform to the car runway. Does it attach to the plunger mounted on the base of the platform?

Here is how mine is attached to the bar. There is a "L" bracket that hooks to the underside of the platform which is connected to solenoid. Hopefully this is the info you want. Your bracket appears to be there but it isn't over bridge lever. Good luck with your project.

Ken, just doing a search on 3656 and ran across this old thread. Your corral looks really nice! Did you repaint it? Also the walkway looks like you wire brushed it or perhaps sanded it. I thought about doing that to mine but then discovered my two internal fences are both spot welded to the walkway area, despite having twist tabs on them that aren't even twisted! Is that the way yours is?

I have been trying to figure out a way to have two corrals in opposite directions set up to have the cattle travel between corrals.

George, no I did not do anything to my 3656 Cattle car. I have to believe everything on my corral is original. My tabs for holding the internal fences are not twisted either, I would assume that both of ours are correct. As of matter of fact I have only tested it for operation since I purchased it in 2004 and I would think it appears to be in very good condition for its age. If I can be of further help let me know via PM as I do not hardly get on the forum anymore.
