Just picked a a #3656 Corral Platform. What is the best thing to do to bring the finish on the platform back to life? Can it be cleaned up and painted?
Mike, I see you have had no nibbles on your question for about 8 months now! I have the same question! It appears about 98% of the chrome/nickel/tin plating used on the corral floor is gone on mine. No rust to speak of, just missing the plating. The problem I see is that the railings or fencing used on the lanes the cows travel down are both spot welded to the frame - that would make it just about impossible to refinish the ramp floor. Did you try anything? Was it successful?
George, No I never got around to painting it. It is sitting on my workbench as another job that needs to be completed. I was going to restore the entire corral but I am having a hard time finding the right color of paints to repaint the painted parts.

Try Henning's Trains. They carry a large amount of paints for Lionel restoring.
Well this is where I could use some help. I am color blind and I have no idea what the correct color is I need to order. I have looked several times and just can’t figure out what colors to use. Anyone want to help and let me know the colors I need for this and the post war milk platform?
