Cleaning up an old unit. Motor gear compartment seems to need a heavier grease. Would old style car wheel bearing grease work best? Looks like it needs a glob of thicker stuff in there.
The grease of choice around here seems to be "Red and Tacky 2" It is made by Lucas oil products and can be found in any automotive supply store. It only comes in a grease gun tube size, so once you have bought it you will have a lifetime supply of it!
I have used it for a few years now and works great, be it a motor, gears, bearings.
