I just noticed 3rd rail is coming out with the C&O Hudson. Was this already announced?

Yes, plus it was discussed some weeks ago over on the 3RS Forum, plus the 2-Rail SCALE Forum, as I recall.
Now, if it was the un-streamlined, poppet-valve L2a, I'd be salivating. But the C&O streamlined Hudson (Lionel did it pretty well, at least visually; didn't MTH do a RK version?) is one streamlined steamer - I'm usually a big fan of these - that I just can't like. I've tried.

Yes...MTH has done the RK version several times.
I'm with you on the C&O Hudson. I just can't seem to come around to liking it. It's like a Commodore Vanderbilt (which I don't love either) gone horribly wrong.
Maybe I'll make a trip to Baltimore and see if the real one changes my mind at all.
I'm sure the 3rd Rail version will be one heck of a model though.

I was impressed when I saw it back in 1983:

Love that C&O Hudson. I have the Lionel upgraded with can and cruise so I won’t be preordering. This should be a huge hit as many have been asking for it.
its on 3rd rail's web site
