After so many battery powered projects, I have started a 3rd rail pickup project with a Blunami module. Even with careful track cleaning, I have found some momentary dropouts on the layout. One solution is a large capacitor to get through some of the dropouts. Another solution is as many pickup rollers as you can connect in parallel. Part of the problem is the corrosion that builds up on the pickup contacts. Once I had several pickups active, voltage stability throughout the layout was pretty stable. Good reminder of the some of the issues which we need to keep in mind when running 3rail.
