3rd Rail Sunset K-4 PRR 4-6-2 Issue

Not familiar with them. Isn't it TMCC? Is there a "run/prog" switch? If so try to program it.

At least for currently advertised Sunset/3rd Rail models, QSI is used in the DC/DCC 2-rail versions, while TMCC is in the 3-rail versions. 

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, that's it High Iron Division not Iron Horse.  Any idea when they were produced, so I know whether it's 2.5, 4 , 5 etc. TMCC ?

I have two of these in 2 rail and are conventional as was common for two rail steam at the time.  They were produced in 2004.  I do not know what would be in the three rail version, but it would be comparable to whatever 3rd Rail was putting in steam locomotives at that time.  I suspect a basic RLS 2 system with TMCC, but I'd have to check other locomotives from that era.  As for detail, I think is a great locomotive and I hope you get yours running shortly.

It's TMCC of whatever date the model was released. Since I operate KISS version of TMCC mine works fine.

I suppose you ought to open the model up and make sure all connections are secure &c.

2004 would be tmcc, with train America studios EOB cruise control.  As stated above check and see of the run/prog switch is in the program position.  I would also pop the tender apart and make sure the 2LRC IS seated.

Thanks to everyone for the advice and support. As suggested, I closely inspected the engine and found that the LHS concentric valve gear rod was bent enough to jam the main drive rod causing the non-run situation. After a slight adjustment, it ran like a champ.

Lesson learned that it's not always the electronic that cause a problem.
