Has anyone made a scale Union Pacific 4-6-2 in 3 rail?  Anyone hear of plans to make one?  I know there have been some brass 2 rail P-77s made in O gauge.  Some of the painted ones look fantastic.  I'll take an old one if it is 3R and accurate. Well.... accurate except for the fact that it needs a third rail.

Everything else seems to be either the 49er nightmare, a generic pacific, or USRA with UP markings.  Not interested in the new mikes.

Obviously the UP market is geared towards Big Boy/Challenger/FEF/UP Type. Believe me, I know.  I recently picked up a NIB JLC Legacy Big Boy #4012 (Yes Lee Willis, you were right, it is everhthing I thought it would be!) and also the new Legacy 4-12-2 #9004 (awesome, more features and less expensive than earlier releases. See Eric Siegel's review. Also, it has steam-whistle effect.....sorry berkshire buyers.)

Those huge locomotives are Beautiful, monsterous freight haulers.  I've been without a layout for months as I have to rebuild a bigger one to handle them.  I also have the lionmaster Challenger #3985 which is wonderful for a semi-scale, but I sure would like to get my hands on a smaller loop SCALE steamer.

An accurate detailed 4-6-2 or 4-8-2 passenger steamer would be sweet.  Do I ask too much? Probably not enough market demand right?.....  MTH cancelled thier MT 4-8-2 before I realized I could have pre-ordered it.

Maybe Lionel could use the Blue Comet/Alton Ltd/Cresenct Ltd motor and running gear.  I'd prefer legacy anyway.  ****....... Scott if you're listening...I'll take TMCC in a 3rd Rail.  Santa...Obama...Romney.....anyone.....all I want is an accurate 1940's UP 4-6-2.

(so long as I'm whining....a two tone gray with silver/white stripe too.)

I do everything here.  Sometimes it is little more than a can of Krylon.  In this case, I even machined the drivers.  Techniques are very simple - this is the same as my OGR 0-6-0 series, except for the boiler taper.  I have done Hi Rail models.

This is the one we did - Myron even had it for a while.  It did not smoke, and it would stall on his switches (only one roller) but I am aware of at least three builders who followed my techniques.
