My Western Maryland 44 toner with ps3 has been in storage for the last six months. Ran fine in both command and conventional before storage. Put it on the layout this evening and it will not respond in command. Got it to start in conventional, but will not cycle out of neutral. I left it on the track with 18 volts for ten minutes, but this did not solve the problem. Anyone have any thoughts on what could be wrong.

If it's PS3, it doesn't need to charge for that long. About two minutes should have worked.
What transformer are you using?
Are you lowering the voltage before pressing the direction button?
Does it come up if you press read on the remote? (It does, but you're saying it doesn't respond?)
Go into the menu and find the command "Recover Engine". Once you've done that go back and find the command "Add MTH Engine". That may do the trick.
For conventional operation, bring the voltage up slowly to no more than 8 volts. Let the engine complete its start sequence, then hit the direction. I recall that being a carryover from Proto-1 to prevent high speed takeoffs.
For command, try recovering the engine. I tend to delete my engines from the remote now as I don't run as often.
