Posting for a friend...
He has a WM 6-11139 #729. Everything works but the bell and whistle. He tried doing the reset and the whistle will blow when he addresses it, but once it's running around the track, neither the whistle or bell will work.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hmmmm,
So the chuff works and no other sounds? Sounds like it could be a board issue.
Try pulling the three boards and re-seating them on the pins.
This has worked for me several times. Oxidation has probably built up between the contacting surfaces.

Thanks, guys. Yes, the only whistle that will sound is when it is addressed as the requested number programmed. After that, no whistle or bell.
Also, pull the boards in the tender or engine or both?? All other sounds work.
I'd start with the tender, it's a lot easier to get into...

What's he using to run it. Cab1, Legacy, or conventional?
