6-11436 Big Boy Issue Anyone Else?

If a tire comes off, do not try to put it back on.  Replace it.  I would suggest you buy MTH Big Boy tires.  That is the hot set up.

Marty ... thanks for the heads up on traction tire.  I have 2 replacement traction tires came with BB will give it a shot before ordering from MTH.

 

any particular BB I should try using traction tires from MTH?

I would use your supplied tires first.  Make sure the wheel rim is cleaned well of oil before installing.

 

If that doesn't hold, I can get you a MTH tires.  Shipping for a few tires from the manufacture will kill you.   G

How much run time does it have, have you keep it on the O72 loop, and has it always gone clockwise on your layout?  If that's really the cause, then I fear I'd better keep a whole slew of them on hand as I'll chew them up due to not just O72 curves, but that curve will be on a nearly 3.75% grade.

3.75% grade???? Yeah that will chew up some tires

Especially with 30 or 40 PFE reefers behind it.

 

The reverse loop will only be big enough for 20, so that'll make my tires last longer.

Sometimes excess lubricant or preservative from manufacturing settles near a wheel.  If it gets on the tire or under, the tire can swell and slip off.   G
