Hi: I bought a GW 180. I'm not sure how many MTH buildings I can wire to this using the accessory output. I would appreciate any guidance provided.

That's going to depend on the actual buildings and how they're used. If they only have a couple of lights in them, probably dozens could be attached. OTOH, if they have lots of incandescent lights and motorized features, probably a lot fewer.

There’s only one way to find out. If the lights are starting to dim then it’s past where it should be.
Thanks for that. I'm going to use a power distribution block which has space for 12 accessories. Any thoughts on whether this is a safe load for MTH buildings (up to five lights per building) and Lionel motorized accessories (Ferris Wheel and Merry-Go-Round)?

Actually, I'd probably consider a clamp-on ammeter to check the power draw of the entire load.
Harbor Freight used to have this one on sale regularly for $10, but it's apparently been discontinued. It's my go-to quick measurement meter, it measures within 2-3% of my much more expensive Fluke bench meter for current measurements.

I just bought a Centech from Harbor Freight for $20.00. Not a bad price I don't think.
