Towards the end of the RIT Tiger Tracks train show last Sunday, my "next door neighbor" at the show (vendor), having learned of my collection of MPC-era 8" scout type box cars, comes over with this 6014 Frisco box car and asks if I'd be interested for $5. I brought it home.
Being a postwar car, it really wasn't on my list, but this car is unique. First off, it seems to have more modern trucks on it, with the needle point axles. Second off it has a pickup on the rear truck, and a small amber light embedded in the end of the car. Neither of us could figure out what it was for.
What really tickled me was when I put it on the track, the light started flashing in a regular on-off pattern. It's an EOT flasher!
Has anyone seen one like this? I'm not finding anything on this car or any variation of the 6014 with a flasher or light.
