I had posted a few weeks ago looking for 6414 runners without autos. I found 1 on the bay and one at my LHS.

My purpose was to use the MTH/Ertl 50's Autos on the 6414's because the loaded MTH cars don't fit under the 213 or 313 bridges. I was willing to cut the 213s but not the 313. So last week I searched the Bay again and came up with a reproduction upper part of the 6414. I never new that they existed. I grabbed two of them and promptly searched my stash for flat cars. I forget the exact number but many cars use the same flatcar body no matter what their number or load I think it's xx11 - x. For runners I think that they are excellent. A bonus is that the '52 Caddys don't fit on the original 6414 because the frame is rolled at the top. The plastic reproduction doesn't have that extra thickness. So now I have my 5 auto loaders with 50's autos.

That rolled edge kept my Evans cars upper deck barren for decades. I have some autos that fit now, but it's still good info.

Someone just mentioned "Alphabet" sized fridge magnets as wheel stops to keep the cars from rolling around enroute on the metal frames. Redundant except you still have some metal decks too eh

What about convertible Beetles, top down? An old Benz conv. sits even lower at the windshield, and 70-ish Vette hardtop even lower.
