Maybe this is a dumb question, but will Lionel ever produce more 6464 boxcars?

If your asking about boxcars numbered 6464XXX, probably not. Their homage to Postwar Lionel appears to have ended.

If your asking about the body style, they still produce cars like the 6464's:

Lionel had reproduced every P/W 6464 that Lionel ever made and a few more from the archives. It provided a good opportunity to achieve the vintage look with the added benefit of low friction rolling stock (that enabled longer consists.) Lionel probably ended the series as the market became and is still flooded with 6464's at low prices. Can't predict where the market will go now.
