This Old Dog learned something tonight. This 726RR has been a pain for a long time but , hopefully, Loctite will keep the rods on tight but it has not been a smooth, quiet runner. I had noticed the roller collectors were worn with a groove in them so I took a closer look. One roller wouldn't turn at all and, not only had a deep groove but there was a definite flat spot worn in to it. Obviously, it had been sliding on the rail for a long time. that roller is made of hard steel. i know because I took a small round file to try to take the edge off the roller. So I pried the roller off the pin(which was another surprise) and the pin was covered with rust. So I cleaned all that off. I plan to get a whole new collector assembly at the TCA show coming up. I don't know how many engines have this set up but definitely worth looking in to. Not perfect but runs better. Not sure about the one roller.
