751E Lionel Set | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I purchased a Lionel Set, 751E, in York last week with set box and car boxes. Set came with powered unit, 752E,two 753 passenger cars and 754 observation car. Was this set ever sold with two 753 cars or were the 753 cars sold separately and one added to this set? Thanks for your help!

The Lionel Catalog indicates the 751 set was a 3 car set and the 758 was a 4 car set. I don't have a catalog for every year of the production run but every one I do have lists the sets in the same manner - 751 three cars, 758 four cars. The catalog also indicates you could buy a separate 753 coach for the 751 set if you wanted to.
